Heartburn, Hardware, and the Nuclear Triad

John and I covered a lot of ground in this one, starting with his upcoming heart procedure and a candid conversation about heartburn, inflammation, and how diet can quietly shape long-term health. From there we moved into a wide-ranging debate on medicine, aging, end-of-life costs, COVID-era decisions, and the uneasy overlap between public health, politics, and trust in institutions. As usual, we didn’t stay in one lane for long — we hit everything from Russia headlines and nuclear deterrence to execution policy, old Wall Street memories, and the strange ways governments and systems justify what they do.

We also got into the fun stuff: Spider-Man, Lanterns, Ted Lasso, and a new nuclear documentary series called The Watch. Then we shifted hard into tech — Microsoft Surface hardware, Grok, Copilot, Meta AI, Vercel, Turso, local AI development, trading bots, EV charging, Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink, and what all of this means for markets, infrastructure, and where things are heading next. We wrapped by talking about the SpaceBat site, Podcasting 2.0, and how we want to keep building the show without sanding off the rough edges that make it ours.
